What is the Horoscope based on?
Why don’t we start exploring its origin? From the dawn of humankind, they learned to predict the destiny just by looking at the star-filled night sky. It’s important to know the patterns and shapes of the constantly shifting cosmic panoply. Ancient people believed that all the attempts in researching could explain the mysteries of life, i.e. changing seasons, wars, economic hardship, and weather. Later, they discovered that their lives are linked strongly to the stars above. Nowadays, this study is called ‘astrology’ in which includes the ideas that can help humans deal with the future.
And, the ‘horoscope’ is an astrological chart (or a diagram) telling the positions of the Sun, the Moon, the planets, and other astrological aspects at a certain time of an event, for example, the moment you were born. This astro-chart is used as a divination method related to the point in time it dedicates. Also, it forms the basis of the horoscope traditions of the astrology.
Zodiac Signs and Meanings
By making used of the horoscope, the astrologers are able to study and tell us – the seekers – the meanings of the twelve Zodiac signs (known as ‘the circle of animals’). There’s something amazing about reading the characteristics of each sun sign: the accuracy. The position of the constellation refers the time of your birth. Based on the star-sign dates (the date you were born), you can actually find out your true self (personal traits) and gain insights into many aspects of life. There are several ways to categorize these 12 signs. Yet, they mostly grouped by element:
- Fire signs – Aries, Leo, Sagittarius
- Air signs – Gemini, Libra, Aquarius
- Water signs – Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces
- Earth signs – Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn
According to the Chinese astrology, horoscopes are based on the symbolism of the Chinese zodiac. This chart is a system consisting all the elements and animals associated with each year, following a Sexagenary cycle. The Chinese horoscopes sometimes are mentioned in horoscope sections in newspapers and magazines alongside Western horoscopes.
